Our branded videos have exceeded expectations, with a +260% increase in performance. The exclusive videos created for Coles became the most successful partner content, achieving 27 million views—directly contributing to Taste’s $7.4 million annual revenue from Coles.

Social Video Growth

Video views across social channels increased by 181% compared to 2020, almost tripling since the lockdown period.

On-Site Engagement

Taste experienced a record 12 months of engagement, with an average of 13.5 page views per user.

The GOal

Taste.com.au’s primary challenge was to find a scalable video solution to meet the growing demand for content across its diverse channels. The platform needed a video product offering capable of supporting their partnerships with food brands, celebrity chefs, and commercial clients, while simultaneously providing content for their editorial team. Their goal was to offer videos that could be featured on-site for recipes, on social media, and across other key platforms to maintain their #1 spot in the recipe category.

We collaborated with Taste to create a suite of video products for their various needs. Our goal was to provide a "one-stop shop" for Taste's video content, with the flexibility to scale production, offer multiple video formats (e.g., hands-only recipe videos, talent-led content, and product integrations), and deliver results quickly to match the ever-evolving food trends.

Our Approach

We focused on building a scalable video production process, which required a nimble team and a streamlined production model. The key to success was flexibility and the ability to produce a high volume of content in a short time. To achieve this, we set up an efficient workflow involving recipe developers, food stylists, kitchen studios, and a dedicated production crew.

Our approach involved several key strategies:

Multi-Platform Video Production

From hands-only recipe videos to TikTok-friendly viral kitchen hacks, we ensured that content was optimized for each platform's unique requirements.

Integrated Shoots

We seamlessly integrated commercial partnerships into the editorial content, providing a consistent and unified visual style for all videos. This helped Taste expand into new areas like product launches and the Taste Test Kitchen series, where food editors tested kitchen products for the audience.

Efficient Production

By filming multiple recipes in a single shoot day, we maximised efficiency and minimized production time. We worked with up to 10 recipes per shoot, especially during busy holiday periods like Easter and Christmas.
